Data Scientist
Location: Liverpool (1 day a week)
Salary: £40,000-£45,000

About the Role

Are you passionate about leveraging data science, machine learning, and AI to drive meaningful business insights? We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our client's Business Intelligence function, specifically within the Data Insights Team. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering data-driven insights to senior leadership and stakeholders across various business functions.

This is a highly autonomous position where you will have full ownership of your projects—conceptualising, planning, implementing, and assessing their impact. You will work closely with data professionals and collaborate with teams across the organisation, including Continuous Improvement, Research, Finance, IT, and Operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute data-driven strategic projects, applying data science and machine learning techniques
  • Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders
  • Build forecasting models, predictive analytics, and other advanced data solutions
  • Conduct A/B testing, regression analysis, and hypothesis testing
  • Work with cloud-based platforms (Azure/AWS) and data warehousing solutions (e.g. Snowflake, DataFactory)
  • Create compelling data visualisations and reports using Power BI or Tableau
  • Collaborate with Insight Analysts and Machine Learning Engineers to enhance data processes and solutions

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience with Python
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Deep understanding of statistics, forecasting, and sentiment analysis
  • Experience in NLP techniques and machine learning model development would be a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
